Producer: Thanks to your support, we were able to release this title worldwide. "Ace Angler Fishing Spirits" was originally well recognized in Japan, and was able to achieve the No. 1 free app ranking in the Japanese App Store.
We were very relieved to receive a very high rating in the store review.
Now, what advantages do you see in using GS2?
Producer: We were attracted to the idea of combining existing functions to shorten development time.
While Ace Angler Fishing Spirits has a solid "use a medal to choose a rod and catch a fish to get a medal" game, we were able to spend development resources on brushing up the game content to see how to make it easier to play and more interesting as a smartphone application for this title.
Producer: Development on the network went very smoothly.
I think it often happens that "the development of the server was delayed and the overall schedule was extended," but that was not the case and we were able to proceed.
Developer: The fact that we didn't have to assign server developer was a big factor.
Developer: By combining the already prepared functions to develop the game, we were able to achieve the game cycle of logging in, transitioning to the menu, selecting a stage, playing the game, displaying the result screen, and returning to the menu again fairly quickly.
Producer: At first, we were not sure if we could realize the game content we had planned using only the GS2 functions, but in the end, we were able to realize the game content we had planned using only the GS2 functions.
Developer: Although it is a little different from anxiety, the fact that the fee is determined by the number of communications made me pay attention to the number of communications, something I am not usually aware of when deciding on specifications or implementing the system.
Developer: For example, the number of times communication is required to obtain the name to be displayed in the ranking each time, so we added the name in the metadata of the score, and the number of times each fish was caught is frequently updated, so we saved the data as saved data.
Developer: Having no experience with GS2, it was difficult to first figure out what it could do.
Developer: The other difficulty was estimating the number of man-hours involved. When I wanted to realize a certain specification, I could not immediately determine if it could be done easily.
This time, I had a Business Support, so I was able to get advice as soon as I asked for it, so I didn't have any trouble.
Developer: GS2-Script liked it.
If I wanted to insert a small action when an account is registered or an item is obtained, GS2-Script was able to make it happen. I think some of the specifications could not have been realized without it.
Producer: I would like to use it again. I think it would be beneficial for projects that want to speed up development and release the software in a short period of time, since it eliminates the need to prepare a server program.
Developer: I think that I could actually feel the efficiency of the development, and through this development I could understand how to use GS2 and its functions, so I think I should use GS2 again.
